Steer Wrestling Rodeo
Watch hundreds of cowboys attempt to qualify in steer wrestling to advance to "The American." Heldat the Kansas Expocentre's Domer Livestock Arena, Topeka is one of onlyfive regional events for steer wrestling. "The American" is a one-day rodeo held in March in Arlington, Texas, where the Top 10 professional athletes in each of the seven classic rodeo events will compete for $2 million in prize money.

Platinum National Dance Competition
Platinum National Dance Competition's regional competition will be held at the Topeka Performing Arts Center.

Monster Buck Classic - Jan. 23 - 25, 2015
The best deer hunting expo in Kansas for enthusiasts who want to discuss hunting, equipment and to showcase their bucks. The Monster Buck Classic will include hundreds of vendors with the latest and greatest in hunting equipment and techniques. Attendees will be able to learn and teach fellow hunting enthusiasts from all over the state of Kansas and the Midwest. The main event will be a buck judging contest. Attendees are encouraged to bring in their deer heads for judging and scoring regardless of the sizeNAIA Learn More 200x400.

NAIA National Championship Wrestling
Topeka hosted the NAIA Wrestling National Championships March 7-8, 2014. The tournament has ten weight classes and a team championship based on individual wrestler finishes. The top eight wrestlers in each weight class earn NAIA All-American honors. There were 41 NAIA wrestling programs in 2013. There are NAIA wrestling programs at three Kansas schools - Baker, Benedictine and Bethany.

2014 marked the 25th year Topeka hosted the Kansas Kids Wrestling Championship. Thousands of wrestlers from across the state squared off on the mat.

Tough Mudder
Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test your strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. Tough Mudder builds innovative courses for their events all over the world and throughout the year. Topeka welcomed Tough Mudder back for a second time in 2014. 

Governor's Cup Soccer
Governor's Cup Soccer is a large invitational soccer tournament held every spring and fall, The tournament is held at the Sunflower Soccer fields.

KSHSAA State Tennis

NHRA Kansas Nationals Professional drag series featuring more than 450 teams, including dragsters and funny cars, racing up to 330 MPH on the quarter-mile track at Heartland Park Raceway. Be part of the action in May.

Sunflower State Games - July 11 - 13, July 18 - 20, and July 25 - 27, 2014
The 25th Annual Sunflower State Games features more than 45 sports for people of all ages and skill levels. From adventure races and BMX, to cricket, disc golf and martial arts - the Sunflower State Games has the perfect activity for you. The Sunflower State Games are held July 11 - 13, July 18 - 20, and July 25 - 27, 2014.
Join us for the kickoff event, the HyVee Athlete Festival with food, music and fun for the whole family with events before and during the 5k/10k Road Race.

Kansas State Horseshoe Tournament - Aug. 30 - Sept. 1
This sanctioned league tournament is held at the horseshoe courts in Gage Park. With 18 horseshoe courts with full walkways, nearby restrooms and surrounded by family-friendly attractions, this state tournament is a large draw for horseshoe pitchers of all ages.

The Symetra Tour is bringing more than 100 internaional players representing more than 30 countries to the Firekeeper Golf Course, Sept 5-7. The Symtra Tour prepares the world's best young women professional golfers for a successful career on the LPGA Tour.

Kansas Senior Olympics - Sept. 2014
The Kansas Senior Olympics is a multi-sport event that promotes fitness, good health, participation and excellence in senior athletes ages 50 years and older. The Kansas Senior Olympic games were established in 1984 by Parks and Recreation of Topeka and the Senior Adult Program. Over the years, the games and programs have been an avenue for thousands of athletes and participants to continue or begin their competitive journey to a healthier lifestyle. Our mission is to continue to provide an outlet for those seeking fitness through sports.
Topeka is the only sanctioned site in Kansas for athletes to qualify for the National Senior Games. Athletes who meet preset requirements at the Kansas Senior Olympics in even numbered years, will qualify to participate in the National Senior Games presented by Humana that are held in odd numbered years.

Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference League Soccer Tournament - Nov. 14 - 15, 2014
The KCAC Men's and Women's Soccer Championships will be held at Hummer Sports Park.

NJCAA Women's National Soccer Championship - Nov. 20 - 23, 2014

NJCAA Half Marathon National Championship - Nov. 20 - 22, 2014The NJCAA Men's and Women's Half Marathon National Championship will be held at Lake Shawnee. The 13.1 mile championship course will run a trail similar to the annual Tinman Triatholon, making use of paths around the lake.
