It's the Weekend Update, Live from...Kansas!

It’s the weekend once again and we have a list of top-notch events for you to attend. The festivities for the 65th anniversary of Brown v Board continue into the weekend and this is the perfect time to get out and enjoy them.

Brown v Board 65th Anniversary Celebration

Brown v Board 65th AnniversaryCelebrate at the Brown v. Board Outdoor Mural located on 15th Street across the street from the Brown v. Board National Historic Site. The bash will take place Friday, May 17 from 5pm to 10pm. The multi-cultural and multi-generational community street party will feature live music and food trucks.

Feel free to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Brown v Board 2019: Real Talk, Next Steps

Brown v Board 65th AnniversaryOn May 17, join us for keynote speaker Ruben West followed by community conversation that will feature local stories, initiatives and round tables. Discussion will include diversity, equity, inclusion and opportunity potential for us in Topeka, present and future. Lunch included.

65th Anniversary Brown v Board History Tours

Brown v Board 65th AnniversaryJoin a guided bus tour of more than 10 historical sites focusing on Topeka's Civil Rights history on Saturday, May 18. 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:30 PM tours will meet participants in front of the Brown v. Board National Historic Site at 1515 SE Monroe.
