Topeka is home to lots of givers. You know them. People who go out of their way to help their neighbors, smile and say “hi” when you pass them on the street, and don’t think twice about giving a Saturday to work alongside their friends for the good of the community.
This weekend, some of those givers have generously created a great experience for all of us. A free concert in Downtown Topeka by LECRAE and Trip Lee begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 and 8th and VanBuren. It’s Tell the World Topeka.
TTWT is intended to say thank you – in a big way – to the 1,500 Topekans who are volunteering at 15 community sites from 8 a.m. to noon on May 6.
ShareFest Topeka is in its 11 year. Founded on the idea that churches working together could do the most good, congregations have been meeting specific community needs with manual labor of all sorts. This is the third time that LECRAE and Trip Lee have performed in Topeka to celebrate the accomplishment.
In case you haven’t heard, LECRAE and Trip Lee are hip hop artists with a Christian message. LECRAE tickets at the Alaska State Fair in a few weeks are starting at $80! In Topeka, they're performing together for free.
Trip Lee is preaching an all faiths service at the Topeka Performing Arts Center on Sunday, May 7. Doors open at 9:15 a.m. for that event and the service will begin at 10 a.m.
Discounted room blocks are available for this event at the ClubHouse Inn and Courtyard Inn by Marriott. Mention the concert when making your reservation.
