Visit Topeka’s Creative Coordinator, Kelsey, tried Café Holliday's Flautas for the first time Tuesday and said everything about it was delicious. She’s still raving about the guacamole and the flavor of the fried tortilla.
“The tortillas were amazing,” Kelsey said. “The homemade chips and guac were awesome. I love crispy chips. The whole meal was excellent!”
I concur. The homemade chips, salsa and guacamole hit the spot for me, too. (I’m vegan, so I opted for a double-order of chips.)
Remember, Café Holliday opens for lunch at 11:30 a.m. If you’ve never been, this great family-friendly café is walking distance from Topeka High at 800 S.W. 12th Street. Plan to spend between 30 and 90 minutes and be patient if there isn't a seat right away. It's worth it.
Café Holliday also is offering a Friday night supper for Restaurant Week, a fried chicken meal with massed potatoes, gravy, buttered corn, a roll, drink and dessert.
“The place is super-duper cute and the staff was very helpful, very nice,” she said.
