The Auburn-Washburn Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce our second annual Back to School Blues ’n’ BBQ Night featuring Grand Marquis, a Kansas City blues and jazz band and International Blues Challenge finalist. The event will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017, at The Foundry, 400 SW 33rd St. Tickets are $25 and include dinner and show; tickets available online at www.bluesnbbq2017.bpt.me.
Back-to-school time can be stressful, so our event is a grown-ups-only time to kick back, cool off and enjoy some blues and BBQ. Our special 21-and-over musical event will feature the musical talents of Grand Marquis, with their blend of American roots, blues, and Prohibition-era jazz. Your ticket will include the show, dinner provided by Big Boyz BBQ, and soft drinks. A cash bar will be available, serving beer, wine and mixed drinks.
The goal of this event is to bring awareness of the Auburn-Washburn Foundation by gathering supporters and district constituents as well as the general public for an evening of entertainment. All proceeds from the event will go to the Foundation to support our mission to enhance, enrich and expand opportunities for students throughout the Auburn-Washburn School District. The Foundation supports new, innovative, and out-of-the-box grants submitted directly by teachers from all over the district, along with larger, district-wide projects.
