The 2019 KANSAS SILENT FILM FESTIVAL event aligns with our Mission by providing yet another entertaining event in our usual timeslot (the last weekend in February) at White Concert Hall and it's a free event. Our musicians will include Kansas City organist Marvin Faulwell and Bob Keckeisen (principal percussionist for the Topeka Symphony Orchestra) plus guest artists New Hampshire native Jeff Rapsis (pianist), Lawrence-based organist, Bill Beningfield, New York City organist/pianist, Ben Model and the three-member Alloy Orchestra from Boston, Massachusetts. These performers will play for selected features and shorts. Each film will be introduced by Kansas City archivist/historian, Denise Morrison who provides a sweeping overview of the silent film era and brings it vividly to life!
