Sprawling multipurpose Heartland Motorsports Park has been a Midwest favorite since it opened in 1989, but its dragstrip has gained the majority of headlines. The event, originally in the fall, featured numerous record performances, including the shattering of the quarter-mile four-second and 300-mph barriers in Funny Car in 1993 and record runs in Funny Car in 2017. In 2023, the professional & specialty categories coming to the Topeka, Kansas event include Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Top Fuel Motorcycle, and Mountain Motor Pro Stock.
