Salute Our Heroes Festival is on a mission to be one of the largest celebrations of service in our country. Organized by the Military Veteran Project, it carries on the traditions of honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans, offering the public the opportunity to show their support for those who serve on our nation's most visible stage in the State Capitol of Kansas, Topeka.
Salute Our Heroes Festival & Topeka Veterans Parade is a program organized by the Military Veteran Project a non-profit organization dedicated to prevention of military suicide. The Festival & Parade assist with mobilizing public support for our veterans, connecting our veterans with resources, and assisting organizations serving our veterans.
The parade is preceded by our traditional Opening Ceremony, The ceremony begins at 10:00 AM. Seating is available at the opening ceremony, with preference given to our disabled and elderly veterans.
On the morning of the parade, groups will assemble in the staging lanes as directed by parade volunteers and local authorities. Specific assembly points/arrival times will be sent with your group’s confirmation materials
Viewing the Parade
Spectators (especially family & friends of participants) are encouraged to gather to show their support along the parade route (see above).
Our VIP’s and military Reviewing Officers will review the parade from our stage on . Bleacher seating for spectators is available near the Review Stand, with priority seating for elderly & disabled veterans.
Line of March
Participants will be informed of their position in the Line of March (order of the parade) in the weeks prior to the parade.
