Shawnee County Disability Mentoring Day

We are happy to announce our “Disability Mentoring Day” on October 23 from 9 to 12 at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library specifically focused on 15 to 25-year-old individuals with disabilities. 

 We will open with an employment panel of individuals with various disabilities who will share their employment experiences with a disability.   

Then at 9:30, we will have “open house style” breakout sessions where you can address the following topics:

·              Resume Building

·              Work professionalism, communication, and appearance

·              Accommodation requests and disability rights

·              Interview tips

·             Representatives from Washburn University, Washburn Tech, and Vocational Rehab

 

Last, from 11 to 12, we will have a Disability Job Fair where you can meet with local employers who are hiring.
