Steer Wrestling Rodeo 
Watch hundreds of cowboys attempt to qualify in steer wrestling to advance to "The American." Held at the Kansas ExpoCentre's Domer Livestock Arena, Topeka is one of only five regional events for steer wrestling. "The American" is a one-day rodeo held in March in Arlington, Texas, where the Top 10 professional athletes in each of the seven classic rodeo events will compete for $2 million in prize money.

KSHSAA 5A State Basketball Tournament

Kansas Kids Wrestling Folkstyle Championship 
2016 marked the 27th year Topeka hosted the Kansas Kids Wrestling Championship. Thousands of wrestlers from across the state squared off on the mat.

Topeka RoadRunners Hockey
The Topeka RoadRunners is a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the South Division of the North American Hockey League. The 2016-2017 season marks the tenth anniversary of the team in Topeka. The hockey season starts in September and ends in April.

Governor's Cup Soccer 
Governor's Cup Soccer is a large invitational soccer tournament held every spring and fall, The tournament is held at the Sunflower Soccer fields.

KSHSAA State Tennis

NHRA Kansas Nationals Professional drag series featuring more than 450 teams, including dragsters and funny cars, racing up to 330 MPH on the quarter-mile track at Heartland Park Raceway. Be part of the action in May.

Kansas Senior Olympics - Sept.
The Kansas Senior Olympics is a multi-sport event that promotes fitness, good health, participation and excellence in senior athletes ages 50 years and older. The Kansas Senior Olympic games were established in 1984 by Parks and Recreation of Topeka and the Senior Adult Program. Over the years, the games and programs have been an avenue for thousands of athletes and participants to continue or begin their competitive journey to a healthier lifestyle. Our mission is to continue to provide an outlet for those seeking fitness through sports.

Topeka is the only sanctioned site in Kansas for athletes to qualify for the National Senior Games. Athletes who meet preset requirements at the Kansas Senior Olympics in even numbered years, will qualify to participate in the National Senior Games presented by Humana that are held in odd numbered years.
