Whether you are 1-year-old or pushing 101, the Mulvane has educational experiences that help you tap into inspiration, connect with your imagination and find a healthy dose of art appreciation.
At the Mulvane, you can:

Find art activities for yourself, your family and your students. Many programs are free to you. Art isn't just for a lucky few ... it's for everyone. Dive in!

Indoors, outdoors, or both? Indoors
Clothing type recommended: Wear clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty if you’re doing a hands on art program.
How to book field trip: Call Kandis Barker at 785-670- 2420 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. For Spanish language or American Sign Language tours please request 3 weeks in advance. Make sure you have the number of children, number of adults, times and dates ready when you call.

Cost: Docent-led tours and ArtLab experiences are free.
Are there scholarships, general grants, or transportation grants available? School Bus Reimbursement Program. When you schedule your class tour, let the Curator of Education know that you want to use the Bus Reimbursement Program and estimate how many buses you will use. If you are an out-of-Topeka guest, please provide an estimate of your travel costs for approval. You will send a copy of your receipt to the Mulvane Art Museum and be reimbursed for the transportation cost. This can take about two weeks.
How long will the tour take from start to finish? Varies by program or experience, but on average a tour can last 1-2 hours.
Pre-Post classroom visits available upon request? You can schedule an in-school visit where Mulvane staff can talk to students or teachers.
Max number of students the venue can accommodate for a tour? 80 students maximum. Groups are divided into small groups and rotate, so each group can have a full and rich visit.
Minimum number of participants needed for a tour? Guided tours and group visits are designed for seven or more.
Number of adults per student needed? A 1 to 10 ratio is ideal, but not required.
Can they eat lunch inside/on site and/or bring their own lunches? Any area on campus would be lovely for a picnic. If you plan to eat sack lunch on campus, please contact Dining Services at 670-1456 and let them know that fi the weather is bad, you will need to eat in the Union even if you have a sack lunch and won’t be eating food from the Memorial Union.
Where do the buses need to park? Is this also where the students should be dropped off? Your bus driver can drop your students off at the entrance of the Museum. Enter the Washburn campus from 17th and Jewell Streets. The Mulvane building is the one with the three arches on front.
Accessibility Information: The museum and ArtLab are ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. For Spanish language or American Sign Language tours please request 3 weeks in advance.
Long term busing is not located close to the museum. Buses will need to park by Petro Allied Health Center or by Durrow Drive and Washburn Terrace (both on the southeast side of campus). Your bus driver is invited to join in on the tours and activities. Please see Mulvane Art Museum Campus Parking Map.
