- For the second time in 2 weeks I went to El Chilar. It has quickly become one of my favorite Mexican food places in Topeka. Had another item off the lunch menu, this time the chimichanga. The beef inside was very tasty and it was smothered in their oh so good white cheese sauce. Portions were excellent size and price was very reasonable. Service was fantastic. We've got to keep this little gem going. - Jim C.
- WOW! Another Delicious Meal at El Chilar (2511 South California Ave.)! I had the Burrito Supremo Mexicano, with Rice & Beans-and a side order of Shrimp! I told them not to start me out with the Chips & Salsa (they come free with the meal), because I wanted to make sure I had room for the real deal. - Joseph B.

After reading such great things about El Chilar, we dropped in to have dinner tonight. We live fairly close so we were really hoping it would be good. We were NOT disappointed. We saw so many things on the menu that we wanted to try but went with our stand by order of chimichangas (chicken for him, ground beef for me). Both were delicious. We also had cheese dip (always a favorite and also delicious here), as well as the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and warm. The salsa might be my new Topeka favorite (other than my own homemade salsa, lol). It had the perfect amount of cilantro, fresh onion, and a nice kick of spice.- Dawn C.
