Hello! I am Dr. Crystal Duclos (many people simply call me "Dr. D"). I am a Licensed Psychologist and have been practicing at Stonestreet & Associates in Topeka, KS since 2014. I have experience working with a diverse set of individuals and problems including anxiety, mood disorders, thought disorders, life adjustment difficulties, and relationship issues.  Therapy is typically not a quick fix, so I gravitate toward working with individuals who are motivated to be active participants in the therapy process to learn skills that create lasting change.

FAQs

How do I schedule an appointment?
Call Stonestreet & Associates at (785) 273-7292 between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Thursday, or between 8 am to noon on Fridays and the receptionist will assist you in scheduling an appointment. You can also email me with general questions (please be aware that both the security and prompt delivery of email cannot be guaranteed, therefore, do not include sensitive clinical information in emails, and never use it in an emergency).
At what times during the day do you offer appointments?
I take appointments on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I offer morning, afternoon, and a limited number of evening appointments. Psychological evaluations are typically scheduled during evenings or weekends. The immediate availability of openings always varies, so please call and the receptionist can help us find a mutual time to meet.
What can I expect during therapy?
At your first appointment, I typically allow clients to discuss their presenting issues while collecting psychological history information. I will then discuss how I can be helpful, we establish goals for therapy, and then schedule future sessions. The duration and frequency of therapy sessions are determined on an individual basis. I will refer out to alternative providers if needed.
What can I expect during a psychological evaluation?
Your first appointment will be 1 hour and is used to determine the referral question, to collect psychosocial history information, and to identify what test measures are needed to answer the referral question. We will then schedule future time(s) for testing. Each assessment is tailored to the specific needs of the individual; therefore time and cost will vary. Typically testing is a minimum of 2 hours. At the conclusion of testing, we will schedule a final appointment where I will give you the results of the evaluation and allow you to ask questions. I always recommend calling your insurance company directly to see what services are covered under your insurance plan. For court-related evaluations, I require a brief phone consultation with me before scheduling.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, check, and most major credit cards. If you have specific concerns regarding payment, please call and the office manager can help you.
Do you accept insurance?
At your first appointment, I typically allow clients to discuss their presenting issues while collecting psychological history information. I will then discuss how I can be helpful, we establish goals for therapy, and then schedule future sessions. What is your cancellation policy?
I have a standard 24-hour cancellation policy. I ask that you notify the office at least 24 hours in advance if you will be unable to make a scheduled session, otherwise you will be charged for the full session fee. Insurance will not reimburse for missed appointments or appointments not cancelled within 24 hours. In the event of severe weather or emergencies, please make every effort to cancel your appointment. Help me serve you and others by keeping your scheduled appointments.
What should I do if I need immediate help?
In the event of an emergency, visit your local emergency department, call 911, or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-8255.
