BROWN V. BOARD OF EDUCATION 60th ANNIVERSARY
Topeka played a pivotal role in Civil Rights history in America, and the city has planned events commemorating the anniversary of the "most important Supreme Court decision of the 20th Century". In 1954, the Supreme Court unanimously decided in favor of desegregation, marking a victory for equality and a major step forward in the Civil Rights Movement.
