The Kaw Valley Bicycle Club is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote a general interest in bicycling for all types of cyclists—tourists, racers, commuters, and casual riders. Our membership is based in Topeka, Kansas. The club takes its name from the Kansas or “Kaw” River flowing through Topeka.
Besides organizing three annual rides (the Capitol Classic, Cottonwood 200, and Bruce Whaley Spirit Ride) and hosting weekly rides, our Board of Directors advocate for cycling both inside the city and around the state. We are a member of the League of American Bicyclists, a national cycling advocacy organization, and are working to make Topeka a Bicycle Friendly Community.
